Hi everyone,

Over the past few months, I have been looking for an organization willing to sponsor a team to volunteer in Haiti during the week of November 7th. My search finally came to an end yesterday as I found an organization that is willing to sponsor a trip at what I consider a relatively low cost ($700-$1000). This cost happens to include a flight out of/back into Florida, lodging, food, security, driver/gas, and interpreters (could be negotiable depending on team language skills). The trip would begin on Monday, November 8th and last until that Saturday, the 13th.

Even so, now that I have found a sponsor, I need to build a team.

I am primarily looking to participate in an effort to rebuild homes and schools, therefore I am searching for those individuals with an interest/aptitude in construction. I myself have limited skills in carpentry, having built garages and sheds, but I have no experience with concrete and steel. Although it is not necessary to have this experience, any interested individual who does possess these skills would be a great asset to the team.

This is not to exclude people who would like to volunteer in other ways. The organization I have found also helps out at local schools and orphanages. I would like to build a diverse team, so if construction is not your thing, rest assured that there are other ways that you can help with our group.

Ideally I would like gather a group of 10-20 people with a wide array of backgrounds from through out the world. As a recent college graduate in my early twenties who has spent time abroad, my goal is to bring together a group of people who not only want to improve the living conditions in Haiti, but also enjoy the process of meeting new people and building new friendships.
