Brooklyn: Dwa Fanm accepting donated goods and supplies this weekend
Wednesday, January 13,2010 - The worst earthquake in 200 years struck Haiti yesterday, causing catastrophic destruction. The quake struck near the capital of Port-au-Prince, the most densely populated part of Haiti.
This has left most of us gravely concerned about family members from whom we've received no news thus far and we fear the worst.
Dwa Fanm has activated an emergency response through our connection with the Brooklyn Tabernacle. Tabernacle doctors, nurses and community health workers are working to bring medical assistance and supplies to areas that have been hardest hit with the first delegation expected to be Haiti as early as tomorrow. Other delegations will continue to go to Haiti during these next few days of crisis.
The most urgent needs right now are bandages, broad-spectrum antibiotics and other medical supplies, as well as water tablets to prevent cholera outbreaks. The need for food, shelter and other types of relief is growing by the hour.
We know how to get help to survivors, but we need your generosity to purchase emergency supplies.
Here is what you can do:

The situation is catastrophic, and immediate action is key to saving lives. We hope we can count on you to help get emergency supplies to the families who need them most.
Thank you.
