We can assist in placing medical volunteers with one of over 60 health facilities (clinics, hospitals, etc) for assignments from a few days or longer. Active medical or nursing license required. We can also place logistics and medical volunteers with our Network Support Team for minimum 1 month or longer stints to help in our coordination activities.

Volunteers are expected to cover their own expenses.
We can also help with travel advice.

The Network was formed in 2008 to help improve communication, cooperation, collaboration, and coordination among health and medical organizations and programs in northern Haiti. We now have over 60 organizations and over 60 clinics and hospitals and other health facilities in the Network. We have a ground assistance team there full time called the Network Support Team. Haiticorps was founded in the days following the major earthquake of January 12, 2010 that destroyed a good part of Port-au-Prince, Haiti and surrounding towns. From this devastation grew an urgency from children, grandchildren, and allies of Ayiti Toma (the Kreyòl name for Haiti) to work to restore Haiti and her proud people to their fullest potential. Haiticorps was founded to help with this tremendous undertaking through collaboration and building human capital.

HERnow (Haitian Earthquake Relief) is a US based, registered 501c3. We are recruiting teams of licensed medical professionals to run mobile medical clinic in the Port au Prince area. Currently, we are recruiting teams for May 15 - July 1, 2011.
Our contemporary team house has 24/7 security and kitchen/cleaning staff. We offer dorm-style living with air-conditioning, running water, wireless internet, drinking water, two meals a day, and transportation to/from the airport.

Location

I want to volunteer my medical training or carpentry and construction experience for service in Haiti. I offer to work starting any time, and can remain as late as June 1 of this year. I am physically fit and comfortable with any form of deprivation. I need no pay, and can afford a flight though I would hope to be provided with shelter and perhaps some food.

HERnow places medical teams within the hospitals and clinics surrounding
Port-au-Prince and specialize in providing care to those in the tent
cities, while emphasizing the importance of documenting illnesses and
receiving follow up care. Additionally, our organization has had
experience with the current cholera epidemic, and has sent medical
teams to Saint Mark, Port-de-Paix, St. Louis du Nord, and La Point.
