I'm a recent medical graduate. I'm taking a year off before I start my residency in General Surgery. I have the most skills in General surgery. I can do simple procedures by myself. Usually I can work as a medical assistant or 1st year surgical intern. If its a very complex procedure that requires 2 other surgeons, I can work as a surgical assistant.
I don't speak Creole FLUENTLY, but I am continuing to learn.

I work in Trauma/General Surgery/Critical Care. I am proficient in central and arterial line placements, chest tube placements, suturing basic and complicated lacerations, wound care, and have experience first assisting in the OR with all surgical specialities. Additionally, I diagnose, treat and place orders on all patients, including critical patients in ICU on our trauma service.
Futhermore, I have 6 weeks of medical mission experience in Africa. I ran my own clinic, helped in the OR when needed and performed hospital rounds.
I would like to be deployed to Haiti to aid in the medical teams. I know with my trauma experience and previous experience working in Africa, I would be an assest to any medical team.
